911Doc and I have a little back and forth in the comments of his Grand Rounds post; we’ve had no breakthroughs, but I give him credit for engaging. (Although now I see erdoc85 got tapped for good cop.)
Then comes Schrodinger’s Cat, another of the bloggers at M.D.O.D. Schro’Cat has a problem: he thinks I’m right about the banality of some docs, but he can’t express that candidly, lest his co-bloggers turn on him. So instead, he writes a response that seems to criticize me, but is so ridiculous and odious that it actually makes my point for me:

By the way – remember “charity”: that’s a word I want to come back to.
UPDATE: From that same comments thread, it turns out that 911Doc and Shro’Cat are both leaving the medical profession. I fully support their decision: it’s the best for everyone concerned, and I am confident they can find a job more in line with their interests and ideology. Best of luck to them both!
